- following instructions provided in orientation
- visiting the meditation room (Arjona 403) 2x/wk to practice meditating using your assigned tools for 10 minutes each time, anytime during normal business hours (M-F, 8:30am-4:30pm)
- practicing daily mindfulness techniques
- filling out brief email survey every other day to confirm practice
- 30-40 minutes for online questionnaires
- 60 minute orientation in Arjona 403
- 10-20 minutes for saliva sample
- 4 week intervention:
- 20 minutes per week meditating in Arjona (two 10-minute sessions, anytime you choose during normal business hours)
- practicing meditation on your own every day, average of 10 minutes per day (total of 70 minutes meditating per week, including time at Arjona)
- 2 minutes to fill out status check emails every other day
- 30 minutes for follow-up online questionnaires
- 10-20 minutes for follow-up saliva sample
- 5 minutes debriefing and pick up compensation
- 2 minutes follow-up email surveys 1, 6, and 12 months later
Additional Requirements:
- 18 yrs or older
- does not currently meditate
- able/willing to download meditation apps onto personal device (e.g., cell phone) that will be provided by the researchers
